Listen to the statues in the Vondelpark.
Vondel Lekt takes you on a statue tour in the Vondelpark in Amsterdam. The app gives a voice to every statue in the park. The statue at the entrance of the park is inviting you, a bit unfriendly, to visit the park, Vondel himself is complaining on his chair and you’ll discover a boy and girl teasing each other underneath the Vondel bridge.
Project created by Merel Willemsen and Klasien van de Zandschulp as part of an artist in residency at Radio 4, Opium op 4 (AvroTros).
Location specific sound art
Extrapool, N.E.W. and HearUsHere designed location specific sounds in the city of Nijmegen. With these sounds you can create your very own soundtrack of the city. Sound artists of N.E.W. used the history, archeology, city environment and nature of Nijmegen as a source of inspiration.
Navigate the streets via sounds
All the streets in the Vogelbuurt neighbourhood carry a bird’s name and each bird forms the basis of the audio tour. Experience the relaxing bird sounds while you walk along, a haven in the urban North. When you approach a street in this district the bird sound of the street name slowly emerges. Even listen at a crossroad and hear a cacophony of chirping!
